Dumbest Generation

"According to recent reports, most young people in the United States do not read literature, visit museums, or vote." according to the article, not going to museums, or voting, makes our generation dumber. also, just because we don't read literature, that does not make us dumb. our access to the internet, and other electronically advanced equipment allows us to visit museums virtually, and read literature online, and also read current, up to date information. the internet has done the complete opposite to our generation. it gives us useful information and keeps us up-to-date with current issues, and even our social lives. being able to talk to someone at the touch of a button is a very powerful and positive advancement to our generation.

I agree with you about how the technology allows us to do the things online rather than going to a museum or something like that. I made that same point about how technology brought us away from being dumb and not the other way around. I liked how you challenged him by saying that we can get current information by using the internet and do virtual tours or read books online.

Dear Alec McClure,
I agree with your post. I think that other people underestimate what the internet does for us. It gives us many more resources and things to do - yes we can visit museums virtually, read things online, and get information quick - that does in no way make us a dumb generation. It makes us almost resourceful.
